Cowell’s Beach, 11 – 5PM
Thank you for volunteering for Day on the Beach, our annual event
where we provide opportunities for those with challenges and special
needs to enjoy kayaking, SCUBA diving and outrigger canoeing.
This year Day on
the Beach will be held at Cowell’s Beach on July 16, 2011 The kayaking,
SCUBA diving and
outrigger canoeing are organized by professionals. If
you are competent and experienced in any one of these areas please call
our office and we can put you in touch with the appropriate
coordinator.
We really need the most help with are the specific tasks listed below:

- Making
Signs

greeting

escorting
participants
- Registration

participants
and
volunteers
- Wetsuit
Coordinator
- Receiving
and
distributing
food
and

up and deliver food
(pre-event)

up and deliver equipment
(tents, chairs, tables, etc) (pre-event)

We are dividing the day into
several shifts:
- Setup: 7:00am-11:00am
- Volunteer
Orientation:
11:00am
- Early afternoon:
11:00am - 2:30pm (with mandatory orientation at 11:00)
- Kayak morning shift:
10:30am-1:30pm
- Kayak afternoon
shift: 1pm-4pm
- Volunteer
Orientation:
2:00pm
- Late afternoon:
1pm-5pm (with mandatory orientation at 1pm)
- Event wrap-up &
breakdown 4:00pm-8:00pm
